PUNCH OUT (8/13)

This week in baseball....two fights.

In a week where the Expendibles and Scott Pilgram open with two types of fighting (military with explosions and video games, respectively), we saw two types of fights in baseball.

Brandon Phillips announced his hatred of the Cardinals.  The next day he and Molina instigate a bench clearing brawl.  Passion.  Competion.  Heat.

A day later, K-Rod for the discouraged Mets is arrested for puching his father-in-law in the clubhouse.  Bad character.  Overpaid.

Can we really expect the players that we want to fight, battle and brawl on the filed are able to control their temper off the field?  Can we cheer and jeer so easily?

What K-Rod did was wrong.  The Mets suspending him was a good first move.  The league suspending players for fighting was also a good move.
